Lena Katherine Benson passed from this life on Monday, Feb. 5, 2018, at Northside Hospital.
She was born Jan. 13, 1940 in Chillicothe, OH, the daughter of Ezra and Katie (Young) Holcomb. Kay is survived by a sister, Carol (Paul) Priest of Kingston, OH; and m,any nieces and nephews. Two sisters predeceased her, Daphna Clark and Louise Dearth.
Kay has met many friends, including three special ones, Audrey Eure, Cathy Kleckner, and Mary Ann Roberts. She had lots of hobbies, collected turtles, and loved to travel. Kay graduated from Union Scioto, Chillicothe, OH, 1957, St. Elizabeth’s School of Nursing, Dayton, OH, 1960, and St. Joseph College, Standish, ME, B.S., 1992. She was an RN and hospital administrator at several hospitals and retired from the State of Florida in 2006. Kay was an involved member at Pasadena Community Church (PCC) including Angel Outreach, Missions Team/Trips, Food Pantry, UM Children’s Home, and many more.
A memorial service will be held at 1 PM on Friday, Feb. 16 in the Goodwin Chapel at Pasadena Community Church, 227 70th St. S., St. Petersburg, with Rev. Sidney Tompkins officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Pasadena Community Church or your favorite charity.
