Paul Falk
July 21, 1922 — April 25, 2007
Paul Falk passed away peacefully at Woodside Hospice in Pinellas Park, Florida on Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at age 84. The son of David and Ray Falk, he was born in Ellenville. New York. on July 21.1922. Paul and June his wife, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Thanksgiving Day,2006.He is survived by his sisters, Norma Landsman & Pearl Foreman and numerous nieces and nephews and grand and great grand nieces and nephews. His younger brother, Henry , was killed in action in World War II.
Paul graduated from Jefferson High School, Brooklyn College (BA), and New York University with a masters degree in educational psychology. He retired in 1985 from his position as guidance counselor in the New York State Education Department as a vocational rehabilitation counselor. He was also chief Vocational guidance counselor at Hofstra University on Long Island, New York and worked at Stevens Institute of Technology in New Jersey.
After retirement in 1985, he became a volunteer at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC. He worked mainly in the Thomas .J. Watson Library of the museum. He retired from the Museum as a Volunteer Emeritus after 20 years of service in 2006.
Paul was a very creative person who wrote poetry, worked in ceramic pottery and produced exceptional photography. He was a member of the Suncoast Gallery at Pass-a-Grill, Florida and the Treasure Island Guild in Florida. He exhibited his work at the staff art show at the Metropolitan Museum of Art for many years. Paul will always be remembered as a warm, comforting, kind and helpful and creative individual.
Graveside service will be 1:30 PM on Friday, April 27, 2007 in the Beth Moses Cemetery, Pinelawn, New York.
