PRIESTLEY, Richard L., 75 of St. Petersburg. Died Friday Sept. 1, 2006 at Menorah Manor. Born in Newton, Massachusetts, he moved from Boston to Clearwater in 1986 and to St. Petersburg in 1992. He had a 27 year career in the computer industry; initially with Computer Control Corporation of MA and later with Honeywell Information Systems, when to two companies merged in the 1970's. He managed Honeywell Information Systems' Boston Operations International Manufacturing Programs and these responsibilities incorporated assignments in several European Honeywell affiliates in France, Italy and the United Kingdom. He served in the Air Force in the Middle East. He was a member of the St. Petersburg Yacht Club and past long-time member of the Newport Rhode Island Yacht Club. He engaged in a lifetime of boating in Florida and Newport, RI., including predicted log racing, long distance cruising, and race committee work. He volunteered in Venetian Isles Homeowners Association committees. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed classical music and the Florida Orchestra. Survivors include his wife, Julie; son, Derek Wallen, Barrington, RI; daughter, Stacey Beltrami, Boston; three grandchildren. Mmemorial services are pending in Florida and Massachusetts.
