MORENO - Rolando, of South Pasadena and formerly of Tampa, passed away Monday, November 13, 2006 at Pasadena Manor in South Pasadena on his 88th birthday. Born in Cuba, he moved to Tampa in 1976, to South Pasadena in 1996 and recently to St. Petersburg. He was the owner of several grocery stores including Al's Market in California, Ideal Grocery and Albany Food Store, both in Tampa, and Best Food & Beverage in St. Petersburg. At the age of eighty, he became a bagger at the St. Pete Beach Publix grocery store. He was Catholic. Survivors include his wife of fifty-one years, Josefa (nee Valdivios); his son, Roland (Denise) of Tierra Verde; one brother, Israel Moreno of Cuba; three sisters, Hilda and Ada Moreno, both of Cuba and Elsa Gutierrez of Miami; two grandchildren, Roland E. Moreno Jr. and Selina Moreno, both of Tierra Verde and one great-grandson, Anthony Moreno of Tierra Verde. Mr. Moreno was predeceased by his parents, Bienvenido and Hortesia Moreno and his sister, Aurora Oropesa. Graveside services will be held 3 PM Monday, November 20, 2006 at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Clearwater, Florida with Fr. Jose Gonzalez officiating. David C.
