Bruce Allan Maxwell

Jul 27, 1963 — Jun 13, 2026

Bruce Allan Maxwell, a husband, father, devoted church member, colleague, and friend, died June 13, 2026, in Marana, Arizona, leaving a legacy of faith and service. He was born in West Union, Iowa, on July 27, 1963, to Margaret Finlayson and William LeGrand Maxwell. As a young child, he moved with his family from Iowa to Ann Arbor, Michigan, and later to Tucson, Arizona. He graduated from Catalina High School in 1981 and went on to college in Provo, Utah. At Catalina, he was active in choir, singing for two years with the Minstrels of Troy, and he carried fond memories of those years and the lifelong friends he made there. He loved music, singing in many ward choirs with his fine bass voice, and developing his talent on the guitar. From an early age, Bruce was known for his work ethic, rising before dawn to deliver the Arizona Daily Star before moving into increasingly responsible jobs as he matured.

A lifelong active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Bruce served as a full-time missionary in the Argentina Córdoba Mission, where he learned to speak Spanish fluently. Those language skills served him throughout his life, especially later in his career when he lived and worked in Central America. After returning from his mission, Bruce continued to serve faithfully in many Church callings, including branch president, stake high counselor, and bishopric counselor. Bruce’s commitment to the gospel and willingness to serve left a lasting impression on many lives.

After his mission, Bruce married in 1986 and had five children. In 1987, he moved to Scranton, Pennsylvania, following a promotion with Dun & Bradstreet, his employer of many years. While in Scranton, he studied accountancy at Wilkes-Barre College, graduating in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science degree. He later earned an MBA from the University of Arizona Eller College of Management. In 2004, Bruce returned to Arizona, where he held positions of increasing responsibility with companies in the Business Process Outsourcing industry before ultimately leading his own international company, MSI Management and Consulting Services. Throughout his career, colleagues respected him for his intelligence, persistence, practical judgment, and ability to shoulder difficult work.

Bruce’s life will continue to impact those he left behind. He will be remembered fondly by many in his church community and professional circles for his faith, steadiness, generosity, and the quiet work he did to lift and support others. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to La Frontera Arizona, https://lafronteraaz.org/. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
