James Richard Mcquade

James Richard “Jim” McQuade, 84, of Lynchburg, passed away Thursday, October 23, 2025, at University of Virginia Medical Center after a brief illness. He was preceded in death by his former wife, Bridgette Elizabeth McQuade. 

Born September 19, 1941, in Baltimore, MD, he was a son of the late John Earl McQuade and Thelma Dyke McQuade. He honorably served our country in the United States Army. Jim was the former owner of Jim McQuade Pontiac and GMC Car dealership here in Lynchburg. He was raised in the Methodist faith. 

He is survived by his son, Philip Andrew McQuade and his wife Kathleen of Annapolis, MD: two brothers, William Logan McQuade and his wife Melissa of Fair Bluff, NC and Thomas Lee McQuade and his wife Allyson of Studio City, CA; one sister, Thelma McQuade Keavney of Towson, MD; two grandchildren, Colton Andrew McQuade and Jackson Philip McQuade, all of MD. He was proceeded in death by his brother John McQuade, and sister Elizabeth Allen. 

A celebration of Jim’s life will be held Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Inglewood Baptist Church with Rev. Dan G. Mason officiating. The family will receive friends during a luncheon at Oakwood Country Club immediately after the service.
