Donald Scott Jones
August 4, 1941 — June 4, 2025
Donald Scott Jones passed away peacefully on June 4th, 2025, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup, Washington. He was born on August 4th, 1941, in Bemidji, Minnesota, to Cleo and Elmer Jones. Don was the second of eight children, and the from an early age, he embraced the values of hard work, kindness, and responsibility—qualities that remained with him throughout his life.
As a young man, Don loved competing in chariot races at the Roy Rodeo and spent many weekends racing his car. In his final years, he found joy in reconnecting with his son Scott and daughter Darlene, and spending time with his many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Don was a devoted father, a loving family member, and a steadfast friend. He is now reunited with his beloved wife, Alice Jones, and his stepson, Jason Armstrong, who passed before him.
He is survived by his children: Scott Jones, Darlene Simmons Jones, and his stepchildren: Kim Hooper, Wendy Wagener, Richard Armstrong, Clay and Ray Holdren, and many more. His legacy lives on through them and the many lives he touched with his compassion, wisdom, and quiet strength.
His departure is deeply felt by all who knew and loved him.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 21st, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Woodbine Cemetery. A reception will follow at Wendy’s house, where family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and celebrate Don's life.
