Jerry Allen Farstad
April 19, 1945 — November 25, 2013
Jerry Allen Farstad was born on April 19, 1945 in Webster City, South Dakota to Arnold and Vivian Farstad. It has been said that he was born in a barn but he described it more like a chicken coop. He was a brother to Richard, Noreen, Neva, Linda and Teresa. He married Tamara Noble in 1963 and they had three children. Tara,Lara and Jerry Jr. He had five grandchildren, Aaron, Justin, Amber, Elijah and Jaycee along with two great grandchildren, Shayna and Xavier. He enjoyed the last 35 years with Debbie Malinak (Ma) and loved to drive her crazy blasting his Eagles music throughout the house.
He worked as a carpenter, drove truck for Sealand and was a longshoreman for ILWU Local 19 for many years. If you knew Jerry he had many talents and was always working on something. He loved his hot rods, fast boats, camping and building things. He was always there to help fix something and over the years we learned a great deal from him.He was a great teacher and very patient with us kids, sometimes leaving us alone for hours to figure it out ourselves, but always in the shadows if we needed help. He always told us we could do anything we set our minds to and his favorite saying was “taint no thang we can fix it” and always measure twice, cut once. He loved all of our family camping trips to Moses Lake with the jet boats where you could still rev it up and race with family members on the water. He also loved our family pot lucks for the Seafair races. He had a very loving and giving soul with a contagious smile that warmed your heart. We will miss him dearly.

GOD TAKES THE BEST God saw he was getting tired, and a cure was not to be. So He put His arms around him and wispered “come with me.” With tearful eyes we let him go and watched him slip away. Although we loved him dearly, we could not make him stay. A precious golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands now at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us - He only takes the best
