Robert (Bob) E. Grevstad, 72, of Lakewood, WA. passed away peacefully April 2o, 2015 at St. Clare Hospital due to pulmonary complications. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Lars and Mona Grevstad. He was born in Port Orchard, WA November 5, 1942, graduated from South Kitsap High School in 1960, and served in the US Air Force from 1962-66. Most of Bobs work career was at the Tacoma smelter. He retired in 2002.
Bob is survived by his sister Carlene Pohl nee Grevstad, and brothers John Grevstad and Max (Aida) Grevstad, and aunt Mary Grevstad. In addition, Bob was blessed with seven children, eighteen grandchildren and six great grand children, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Bob loved his family and friends, and was devoted to the Lions Club where he held several offices and often volunteered for the Clubs annual Camp Leo Diabetics program. He was an active and well-respected member of the New Hope Community Church in Lakewood. He joyfully shared his musical talents vis--vis his saxophone. He cherished his many friends at his domicile, the Shags apartment in Lakewood.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 12th at 11:00 am at the New Hope Community Church: 9308 Meadow Rd. SW, Lakewood, WA 98499, 253-588-0808, www.lakewoodnewhope.com.
