Doris Allen

Doris Allen went home to be with the Lord on May 5th, 2021. She was born in Ness City, KS and was one of eleven children. She graduated from Ness City High School where she greatly enjoyed being a drum majorette. She married Harry L. Simmerman and resided in Carmel, IN. Together they had three children, H. Allen Simmerman of New Port Richy, FL, Reane Simmerman-Postma of Jasonville, IN, and Kelvin E. Simmerman of Dunnellon, FL. Doris worked in the cafeteria school system and enjoyed sewing, upholstering, ceremics, gardening, raising orchids and making corsages, and she had a lifelong passion of fishing and dancing especially polka. She was a Worthy Matron in the Order of the Eastern Star and also had the honor of serving as District Deputy. She considered these her greatest accomplishments. Later in life she married Raymond Allen of Indianapolis, IN and became snowbirds in Holiday Travel Park before moving there permantly. After his passing, she later met her partner Louis Roth of Baltimore, MD. Louis and Doris were quite the couple that enjoyed the fellowship and daily activities of Holiday Travel Park, especially the dancing. She leaves behind her partner Louis Roth and her siblings Bobby, Betty, Lillian and Velma. She will be greatly missed by her children Allen, Reane and Kelvin. She also leaves behind her grandchildren Ryan Simmerman, Brent Simmerman, Stephanie Postma, Rachel Arnold, and Joshua Postma. She has 8.5 Great grandchildren and 4.5 Great-GreatGrandchildren. Peace is hers. Meet me at the gate Mother. We love you. Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday May 12th at 4:30 Holiday Travel Park Recreation Center.
