MARY LOU WHITTINGTON
Mary Lou Whittington, 76, of Englewood, Florida died Sunday, February 8, 2009 at Englewood Community Hospital.
Born on May 29, 1932 in Calcutta, Ohio to the late Lester and Rosie (Green) McElhaney, she had been a resident of Charlotte County for twenty-six years coming from East Liverpool, OH. She was a medical secretary prior to her retirement. Mary Lou was a member of the Englewood East Church of Christ in East Englewood.
She is pre-deceased by her parents, one daughter: Betsy Marlene; three sisters and five brothers: Velma, Dorothy, Wanda Mae, Floyd, John, Ross, Dale, and Jim.
Survivors include her loving husband of fifty-eight years: Wayne of Englewood, FL; one son: Richard of Englewood, FL; two sisters: Ruth Whittington of Wellsville, OH, Cora Belle Wilkes of Rogers, OH; three brothers: David McElhaney of East Liverpool, OH, Ray McElhaney of Hendersonville, TN; Richard McElhaney of Jasper GA; two grandchildren, one great grand daughter and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside committal service will be held at a later date in Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
