Karen Louise Yoho
Nov 12, 1935 — May 3, 2026
Karen Louise Yoho died peacefully on May 3, 2026, in Gilbert, Arizona; and went to be with her Savior and best friend, Jesus. Karen had a lifelong commitment to serving God by helping others.
Karen was born on November 12, 1935, in Fairfield, Illinois, to Clarence "Red" L. Jeffrey and Doris P. (Forbes) Jeffrey, and joined her older sister, Dessie Jean. She graduated early from Fairfield High School in 1952, and moved to Evansville, Indiana, where she graduated from Lockyear Business College. While she attended college she fell in love with her classmate and former Marine, Chet Gibson, and the two were soon married. They were quickly joined by two sons, Jeff and Lance. In 1961, they believed God was leading them "west" and settled in Mesa, Arizona. Karen started working at Motorola in its heyday, working her way up from secretary to Human Resources Manager, at her retirement. Sadly, their married ended after 26 years. Later in life Karen reconnected with her high school sweetheart, Gene Yoho, and they were married for 10 years until his death. Karen and Gene enjoyed one another's renewed love and companionship. In obedience to her God given passions, Karen enjoyed leading Bible studies, being involved in sharing the good news of Jesus, prayer groups, starting and managing a food pantry, giving food and praying for those less fortunate, counseling divorcees, caring for the needs of many, and being a dear friend to many. Moreover, she loved, encouraged, and prayed for her family members. She was always eager to share the hope she had in Jesus, her friend, both in her words and deeds.
Karen is survived by sons, Jeffrey L. Gibson (Alice), Lance B. Gibson (Lori), Stepson Tracy S. Yoho, Stepdaughter Suzanne Gulley; Grandchildren, Nicole D. Gibson, Amber D. Jones (Steve), Kaleb E. Gibson, Shannon T. Kruger (Martin), Christopher D. Young, Chance W. Young, Violet Renae Moore, Derrick Fletcher, Raven Gulley; Great Grandchildren, Samuel D. Jones, Gabe I. Jones, Ronin M. Kruger, Jocko I. Kruger, Valen B. Kruger, Chesney Young, Allison Young, Daniel Young, Kayley Young, Audrey Young, Alexis G. Thomason, Sophia Fletcher, and Vivian Gulley; and Great Great Grandchildren, Rosey Rae Young, Elora Young and Vienna Young.
Karen was preceded in death by her husband, Ira "Gene" Yoho; Sister, Jean Wiseman; Stepdaughter, Christina Young (Danny); and Granddaughter, Rachel D. Gibson.
