Melvin James "Jim" Harrington, 63, peacefully passed away on Friday, December 6, 2013 at
Montecito Nursing Home, 51 S. 48th 1950, at Casa Grande, Arizona to Melvin and Irene (Witton) Harrington. Shortly after his birth his parents moved to Reno, Nevada. Later they moved to Phoenix Arizona where Jim was raised and where he graduated from Carl Hayden High School in 1966. Jim married Cherri Ann Williams on February 15, 1975 in the Los Angels LDS Temple. Jim and Cherri made their home in Mesa, AZ where they raised their two children. Jim was a devoted father and grandfather and a very generous kind hearted man.
He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Cherri of Mesa, Arizona; and his two children, Christy (Doug Lanenga) of Gilbert, and Michael (Monica) Harrington of Phoenix; six grandchildren, Fernada, Milio, Siciley, Shawn, Dillenger, and Hailey; one sister Ruth (Steve ) DeVault of Phoenix; father-in-law J.T. Williams of Heber AZ, one brother-in-law, Monty (Susie) Williams of Heber AZ; two sisters-in-law, Kayrene (Gary) Palmer of Heber AZ, Lorie (Doug) Brewer, of Queen Creek, AZ; and eighteen nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Dorene Crandell Williams, a brother-in-law, Daryl Williams and his parents.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, December 14 at The Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints, Heritage Park Ward "" 235 W. 10th place at a later date at Heber Cemetary, Heber AZ. Visitation from 9:00 to 10:00 AM.
