GREENWOOD, Helen M., of Nokomis Florida passed away unexpectedly and peacefully on December 24, 2018. She was 80. Helen was born on April 11, 1938, in Saratoga Springs, NY. She and her husband, David raised their family in Ramsey, NJ. Upon retirement, they moved to Nokomis, FL where she had lived for the last 19 years. Helen was a graduate of Saratoga Springs High School, Saratoga, NY. She graduated with Honors from Albany Business College, Albany, NY with an Associates Degree, Registered Medical Secretary. Helen was an avid reader, boater, tennis player but most of all enjoyed spending time and vacationing with her family. When Helen was a former parishioner of the Venice Nokomis United Methodist Church in Nokomis, FL she held the following positions, Board of Directors for the Bargain Center, Finance Chairman, Trustee, and Treasurer for Venice Nokomis United Methodist Church Marry-Methodist She also served as an Usher for the Venice Symphony. Helen is survived by her beloved and devoted husband, David N. Greenwood; daughter, Jennifer L. (Greenwood) Kuchy of Norfolk, MA; son, Douglas D. Greenwood of Mahopac, NY; grandchildren, Paige L. Kuchy, Allison L. Kuchy, Andersen L. Greenwood and Kyrsten L. Greenwood; son-in-law, Jonathan M. Kuchy; daughter-in-law, Alexandra L. Greenwood; brother, Elroy Lane, Saratoga Springs, NY. She is predeceased by her parents, Harrison “Harry” and Henrietta “Loretta” Lane both of Saratoga Springs, NY. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2019, at 2:00 PM at Venice United Church of Christ (VUCC). In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in her memory to Venice United Church of Christ Campus Improvement Fund either by mail to VUCC, 620 Shamrock Blvd, Venice FL 34293 or online at https://veniceucc.org/giving/.
