Julene Timberlake Snell
Julene Timberlake Snell, 82, of Venice, Florida, passed away surrounded by family on April 30, 2025. She was born May 18, 1942, in Zion, Illinois, the daughter of Daniel and Helen (DeVries) Wenrich.
She graduated from Zion Benton Township High School and had a long career in business administration, retiring as an executive assistant after more than 20 years at the Allstate Insurance Company headquarters in Northbrook, Illinois. More recently, she loved her role as a volunteer member of the office staff at CenterPointe Christian Church of Venice. She also was an avid golfer and Mah-Jong player.
She married R. Douglas Timberlake in 1981 in Palatine, Illinois. He died in 2001. She was married to John Q. “Jack” Snell from 2011 until his death in 2022.
Julene is survived by her stepdaughter, Lori Timberlake (Jerry) Porter of Peoria, Illinois; nephews Matthew (Angela) Wenrich of Brandon, Florida, and Mark (Brandy) Wenrich of Barrington, Illinois; niece Bonnie Wenrich Thelen of Huntley, Illinois; sister-in-law Jackie Peacy Wenrich of Huntley, Illinois; and beloved great nieces and nephews Alex (Chris) Piscopo, Samantha (Robert) Seguin, and Jackson (Kerigan), Emma and Cole Wenrich.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by her brother, Norman Wenrich.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at her beloved CenterPointe Christian Church at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 14, 2025. A brief inurnment will take place at Venice Memorial Gardens immediately after the celebration, followed by a reception and refreshments at the church.
Because the mission and growth of the church meant so much to Julene, the family requests donations to the church’s Imagine More building project in lieu of flowers.
