Louis Philip Sandoz

Louis Philip Sandoz, husband, father, and dear friend passed away on January 13, 2015. He was born on Oct 13, 1932 in South Bend Indiana to Dr. and Mrs. Louis Sandoz. Phil graduated from Culver Military Academy and Ohio Wesleyan University and completed pilot training in the USAF. Phil flew for SAC based in Kansas and the arctic regions. He married is college sweetheart, Myrna Prestien the week after graduation from college and they enjoyed a beautiful and loving relationship until Myrna's death from cancer on April 14, 1992.
Phil and Myrna had two children, Elizabeth Sandoz and Robert Sandoz. Louis is blessed with two grandchildren, Leona and Griffin.
Phil married a longtime friend Barbara Gray on August 14, 1994 in Ho-Ho-Kus N.J. Barbara joined Phil in Hartland Wisconsin until his retirement from his position in Sales & Marketing with Leica, Inc. a Swiss firm specializing in the manufacture of surveying and mapping applications.
Retiring in 1995, Phil and Barbara moved to Venice Florida.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30PM on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Farley Funeral Home in Venice. Phil will be buried with Myrna and his family in Oaklawn Cemetery in North Manchester, Indiana. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to http://www.standup2cancer.org/ or to the First Christian Church-Venice, 1100 Center Road, Venice, Florida 34292. Service Information
