Murtha Lucille Anderson, age 79, passed away February 26, 2015 at Venice Regional Bayfront Health in Venice, Florida.
Murtha and her beloved twin sister Olgarette were born on December 23, 1935 in Waukesha, Wisconsin, the daughters of August (Ott) and Lucille (Harris) Sander. She graduated from Waukesha High School in 1954. She was married to the love of her life, Fredric Anderson July 28, 1956. They moved to Austin, Texas during Fred's military service and later returned to Sister Bay, Wisconsin where they started their family. They later lived in Stevens Point, Waupun, and Plover, Wisconsin, retiring to Nokomis, Florida in 1997.
In her earlier years Murtha sold crafts and worked at a bait shop in Sister Bay.
Murtha enjoyed fishing, boating on Lake Michigan, and gourmet cooking. In retirement she enjoyed casino trips, visiting Door County, and the annual pilgrimage to Deer Camp.
Murtha was preceded in death by her Parents, and twin sister Olgarette. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Fred, her children Jay (Lori) of Plover, Danielle (Lynelle) of Minneapolis, Grandchildren Erich and Jenna, Sisters in Law Anita Beckstrom, Miky (Paul) Jorgenson, June Jarman, Karen (Jerry) Gibson, and many nieces and nephews.
Murtha requested that instead of giving her flowers at her funeral you send flowers to someone you love who is alive and can enjoy them!
She was a breast and bladder cancer survivor and did volunteer work for the American Cancer Society and has requested that any memorials go there.
Private services were held.
