Patricia Anne Hill (née Hanratty)

October 26, 1948 – June 29, 2026

Patricia Anne Hill (née Hanratty), lovingly known as “Pat” or “Patty” and affectionately called“Gigi” by her grandchildren, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 29, 2026, at the age of 77 at Tidewell Hospice House in Port Charlotte, Florida.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 56 years, George P. Hill of Venice, Florida.  Loving mother to her children, Gregory G. Hill, Dennis P. Hill, the late Kenneth and Jaimee (Nee Benton) Hill, Matt P. Hill and Tara (nee Yerkes) Hill, Julie Rieck (Derek); her grandchildren, the late Michael Hill, Connor Hill, Kyle Hill, Keegan Hill, Declan Hill, Logan Hill, Alana Hill, Kylie Rieck and Alex Gunnar Rieck.

Surrounded by her loving family, Pat left this world just as she lived her life—with faith, grace, and love. Born on October 26, 1948, in Colwyn, Pennsylvania, Pat was the daughter of the late Richard J. Hanratty and Mary (Nee Keidel) Hanratty and the second of eight children. Sister of Mary (Joe) Finnerty, Joanie (Chuck) McDonnell, Colleen (Ward) Mintzer, the late Richard Jr. and (Joyce) Hanratty, Peggy (Gary) Christie, Helen (Tom) Perrotta, and the late Norman Hanratty (Sue), as well as her beloved sister-in-law Gerri Lear (nee Hill) and the late Walter (Yankee) Lear.

She leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. She attended St. Clement’s School in Philadelphia before graduating from West Catholic High School in 1966. She continued her education at St. Joseph’s University, where she studied education and began teaching fifth-grade English.

On June 27, 1970, Pat married the love of her life, George Paul Hill. Together they built a beautiful life centered on faith, family, and unconditional love, celebrating 56 years of marriage together on Saturday, June 27, 2026. After years at home raising her children, Pat worked at ARCO Chemical Company for nearly 15 years, where she formed many lasting friendships and flourished as a public affairs and corporate contributions assistant.

Creative, energetic, competitive, and endlessly fun, Pat loved to dance, laugh, play games, and make memories. She believed almost anything could become a game—even cleaning the house. Her playful spirit brought joy wherever she went. Children seemed naturally drawn to her for she had the remarkable gift of making every child feel seen, loved and important. Pat’s talents were far and wide. She was a talented seamstress who enjoyed crafting, decorating, and participating in craft shows. Family and friends often called on her to help wallpaper, decorate, or transform a room, and she generously shared her talents without hesitation. She could also feed an army of hungry boys at the drop of a hat with her signature bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches and side of “Home Boy” fries.

Her Catholic faith was the foundation of her life. A rosary was almost always tucked into her pocket, ready whenever she felt called to pray. She believed almost any problem could be solved by a prayer and a good nap. She trusted deeply in God, and she lived her faith not only through prayer, but through countless quiet acts of kindness, generosity, forgiveness, and service. Pat drove women in need home from the laundromat; she would drop off necessities at the local women’s shelter; she mentored underprivileged children, and offered babysitting to any mom who needed a break. She never sought recognition for her kindness, believing that the greatest acts of love were often the ones no one else ever saw.

Pat’s greatest legacy was not found in anything she owned or accomplished, but in the countless lives she touched. She taught that love is shown through small acts of kindness, that faith is lived through service, and that family is life’s greatest blessing. Her laughter, her generosity, her unwavering faith, and the joy she brought into every room will continue to live on in all who were blessed to know her.

A Funeral Mass and burial celebrating Pat’s life will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes in Venice, Florida, on July 27, 2026 at 10 am. A memorial service and Mass celebrating her life will be held in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, in the fall, where family and friends will gather to honor and remember the remarkable woman whose love touched so many lives.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to the Tidwell Hospice House in Port Charlotte, Florida. The compassionate staff provided Pat with exceptional care and gave her the priceless gift of leaving this world with dignity, peace, and surrounded by love. Her family will be forever grateful for the kindness, comfort, and unwavering compassion shown not only to Pat, but to everyone who loved her.
