Robert E. Groom

Robert E. “Bob” Groom of Venice, Florida, passed away on April 2, 2026 at the age of 101.  He was born on April 21, 1924 in Hoboken, New Jersey and moved to Venice in 2025 from Newport News, VA.  Bob worked at Shulton & Standard Brands for over 30 years and 15 of those years he was a Production Supervisor. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and member of the V.F.W. and American Legion.

Bob is survived by his loving wife, Angela of Venice, his children, Greg Groom and his wife Beverly of Venice, FL; Robert Groom and his wife Kathleen OF Largo, FL and Kathleen Groom of Budd Lake, NJ.  He also leaves behind 7 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death be his father, Robert Groom; his mother, Agnes Bell; a brother, Harold Groom and two sisters, Martha Patrick and Mary O’Krinsky.
