Dian Donna Mitchell
July 24, 1940 — March 8, 2026
Dian Donna Mitchell (Davis), 85, of Caldwell, Idaho, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2026, with her family by her side.
Born on July 24, 1940, in Los Angeles, California, to David Davis and Helvetta Hilt-Davis, Dian was the eldest of five children. As a teenager, she moved to Placerville, California, where the foothills of the Sierra Nevada shaped her early years. She spent her days playing in the river, forming lifelong friendships, and enjoying her high school years in the small mountain community she loved.
Dian went on to become a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), dedicating her career to providing care, comfort, and compassion to others. She had a natural gift for putting people at ease, a quality that touched countless lives throughout her years in nursing and later working for the Visiting Nurse Association (VNA). Through her retirement years, Dian lived in both Northern California and Southern Idaho.
Outside of her work, Dian found joy in the simple beauty of the outdoors. She loved gardening, spending time in the sunshine, and nurturing the plants and flowers that brought her so much peace. She was also a talented embroiderer, known for her keen eye for detail and the patient, steady spirit that showed in every stitch.
Family and friends were always at the center of Dian’s life. She is survived by her husband of more than 50 years, Charles Mitchell; her children Ron Lovejoy, Jr.; Dora (Steve) Broussard; Teri (David) Peterson; and Michael (Kelly) Mitchell. She also leaves behind six grandchildren and eight great‑grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense pride and joy.
Dian will be remembered for her kindness, her gentle strength, and the love she poured into everyone around her.
