Fred L. Lewis

b. July 9, 2013

Our father, Fred Leslie Lewis was born May 18, 1949 in Boise, Idaho. He left this mortal life due to Glioblastoma (brain tumor) on July 9, 2013 at the age of 64. Dad was the sixth child born to Lloyd and Lena Lewis; Edward, Ilene, Marvin, James, Ray, Helen Birch, Irene Hart and Alice Vandamer. Dad was raised on Dry Creek on Brookside Lane where he attended Eagle Elementary, Eagle Jr. High and graduated from Meridian High School in 1967. There he dated and then married his sweetheart and Eternal Companion Paula Jahaza Patterson. They were sealed together in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. From this union came six wonderful children; Steven, Loree, Paul, Jerrene, Jahaza and Eileen, followed by 29 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Dad worked for Intermountain Gas Company for 39 years, where he retired in 2006. He had a love for the game of basketball in which he played up to the age of 63. He had a love for the outdoors, if he wasn’t at work or serving someone, you could find him somewhere either with a gun or a fishing pole in hand. He loved his garden, camping with family, swimming in Lake Cascade or just relaxing in the shade in his lawn chair with his hunting dog at his side. Dad served faithfully in many church callings in which his most cherished was that of a temple worker in the Boise, ID LDS Temple, where he served till the week of his surgery. Those who know him will always remember him for his service to others. Dad was preceded in death by both of his parents and his sister Ilene. He leaves behind his beautiful wife of 46 years, Steven & Teresa Lewis of Nampa, ID, Loree & Adam Rolnick of Gilbert, AZ, Paul & Desiree Lewis of Caldwell, ID, Jerrene & Bryce Naillon of Caldwell, ID, Jahaza and Marc Murdock of Nampa, ID, Eileen & Robert Mickelsen of Nampa, ID, 29 grandchildren and one great grandchild. We as a family would like to thank all of the health care specialists at MSTI of Meridian and St. Luke’s in Boise and Drs. Bridges and Montalbano who had a helping hand with our father.
