Jo Ann Brown
Oct 16, 1931 — May 15, 2026
Jo Ann Brown, 94, of Caldwell, died Friday, May 15, 2026 at home surrounded by family. She was born in Wellsville, Utah, to Spencer and Millicent Maughan and later moved with her family to Nampa, Idaho. After graduating from Nampa High School, she moved to Walla Walla, Washington, where she began her career in banking and met the love of her life, James “Bud” Brown. They were married on July 24, 1954 and made their home in Nampa, where they raised their three sons: Michael (Cheryl), Richard (Becky) and Mitchell.
Jo Ann worked in the banking industry for more than 40 years while devoting herself to her family and community. She was active in the Nampa Civic Center Auxiliary, the Women’s Century Club, and enjoyed many years ushering at the Morrison Center.
Jo Ann loved reading, shopping trips with the family, Boise State football, travelling to Hawaii and Mexico, and spending time at the family cabin in McCall. She especially loved Christmas and was well known for her beautiful holiday decorations and treasured Christmas Eve gatherings with family.
Special thanks to Kristi Hendry for her loving care and friendship over the past five years.
Jo Ann was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Helen. She is survived by her loving husband, Bud; her sons Michael (Cheryl), Richard (Becky), and Mitchell; grandchildren Nicole (Brian), Jessica, and Alexandra; seven great-grandchildren; siblings Dee, Tamyra and Suzan; and many nieces and nephews.
