Barbara (Bobbi) Leahy, 90, died March 16, 2025, in Brandon, Florida.

Bobbi was born February 22, 1935, in Albany, NY as the youngest of four daughters to Isaac Hungerford and Alma Mae Stevens. Bobbi was married to the love of her life John (Jack) Leahy on February 20, 1960. They were happily married for 65 years. Bobbi was a true pioneer in every sense of the word. She was first and foremost a devoted wife and mother but she was also a teacher, TV personality, author, part of Nancy Reagan’s drug prevention council, Ms. Sr. Arizona, and wrote, directed and starred in hundreds of plays and musicals. She was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Mark’s Catholic church (Lady Lake, FL) as well as All Souls (Sedona, AZ) and St. Patrick’s (Watertown, NY).

Jack and Bobbi had a once in a generation love story. Their story started in Colonie, NY with a $9,000 house and a $1,000 1957 Pontiac station wagon. Son Daniel arrived in February 1961 followed by twins Timothy and Clancy in June 1962. In November 1963, son Michael arrived followed by daughter Megan in 1968.

The family moved to Ballston Spa, NY in 1961 where Jack and Bobbi ran the family liquor store. They spent seven years there followed by a move to Watertown, NY in 1970. Once her kids were old enough, Bobbi taught English at Immaculate Heart Central High School. In 1985, Jack and Bobbi moved to Sedona, AZ where they spent 26 happy years in the sunshine and peacefulness of Sedona. Jack continued his sales career and Bobbi continued teaching. In 2010, they moved to Lady Lake, FL to be closer to family and to enjoy retirement.

Bobbi is survived by sons Daniel (Denise), Timothy (Renae), Clancy (Lorraine), Michael (Luann), daughter Megan, and 19 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jack, angels, Stephen and Patrick, and her three sisters: Jean, Peg and Marcia
