Frederick W. Corbett was born May 12, 1954, in Salem, MA. to parents Harry and Rita Corbett and passed on April 2, 2026, after an accident at his home in Lacey, WA.
Frederick was one of two children. Growing up with his sister Linda, he attended and graduated from Salem High School in 1972, then quickly graduated from Navy schooling in 1973 before finally graduating from Barber Collage in 1982. Frederick proudly served in the US Navy from 1972 – 1974.
In 1985, Frederick moved from Salem, MA, to Tumwater, WA and in 1997, moved to Shelton, WA until settling down in Lacey, WA in 2012. On October 31, 1994, Frederick married the love of his life, Kimberly Schmidt in Reno, NV. Later, renewing their vows to one another in 2001 in Tumwater, WA. Together, they had three beautiful children. Two daughters, Heather Freeman and Cameron Freeman, and son Michael Corbett.
Once Frederick was discharged from the Navy, he worked at various jobs before attended barber college in 1982. Frederick bacame a barber and as a sole proprietor of "Cutter of Hair" Fred Corbett, Esq was happy in his role for 27 years. He also took on a position as director at the Mason County Senior Center for 2 years after retiring from barbering. Before barber school Frederick was a credit collections manager for 4 years, a restoration carpenter for 4 years, a cab driver and a sound man for Angelspit Onsite Production for 15 years.
When work was not occupying his time, he loved all types of music, playing in several different bands and was a sound man for even more bands that he did not play in. He played the washtub base and percussion instruments in his bands and adored every minute he was able to play.
He was a member of various different groups including The Eagles, 40 ET 8, and American Legion. He was a past president of the Tumwater Lions from 1991 – 1999, a past zone chair of zone C-8 of Lions international, and a past lodge officer of the Elks from 1991 – 1997. As for his Masonic career; he was a past master / life member of Union City #27, life member of Mt. Mariah #11, life member of Hood Canal #288, honorary past master of Bremerton #117, a 32-degree Scottish Rite Mason and York Rite Mason, member of Nile Shrine, past president of Kitsap Peninsula Shrine Club, past royal patron of the Order of Amaranth and a member of the Order of Eastern Star.
Frederick loved books and taking in as much knowledge as he could. A lover of music, old time horror movies and even studying law. He lived by the motto “When you know better, you do better.”
He is preceded in death by his parents Harry and Rita Corbett, grandparents Frederick and Alice Judge and Jeanie Corbett. He leaves his memory with wife Kimberly Corbett, son Michael Corbett, daughters Heather and Cameron Freeman, and four grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that all donations be made to the family to deter expenses.
A service will be held in Frederick’s honor on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at noon at the Masonic lodge in Skokomish, 19331 US-101 Skokomish, WA (just north of Shelton). There will be light refreshments afterwards and a small group to spread some of his ashes at the historical Masonic Cemetery in Union, WA. The remainder of his ashes will be interred at later date.

There will be light refreshments afterwards and a small group to spread some of his ashes at the historical Masonic Cemetery in Union, WA. The remainder of his ashes will be interred at later date.
