Helen Marie Kriedeman

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Helen Marie (Olson) Kriedeman who departed on June 1st, 2025, in Olympia, Washington. Helen was born on September 27th, 1930, in Bismarck, North Dakota to her loving parents, Ed and Alphoebe Olson. She would grow up in Minot, North Dakota where she would eventually marry Fred W. Kriedeman on November 8th, 1952. While we grieve her loss, let us celebrate the life she lived and the legacy of love she leaves behind.
Helen will be greatly missed by her children Robert W. Kriedeman, Keith A. Kriedeman, and Barbara Owen, along with her 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She is preceded by her daughter Colleen Collins, her siblings Richard Olson, Donnie Olson, Ray “Sonnie” Olson, and Alice Schneider, as well as her devoted spouse Fred W. Kriedeman.
Graduating from Minot Highschool in 1948 she started her own business with her husband Fred Kriedeman titled “American Glass and Window” which they ran together for 13 years. In addition, she also later was a bookkeeper for Genesis Book & Gift Store as Helen was an avid reader and loved books of all kinds.
Moving originally to Everette Washington, she explored and lived all over Washington state including Des Moines, Enumclaw, SeaTac, before coming to Olympia. She loved the outdoors, enjoying both camping and traveling while staying dedicated to her garden at home. Helen also was a creative soul and enjoyed cross-style and quilting. Even joining a quilting group to share her creations and make lasting friendships.
To honor and celebrate Helen’s life a service will be held on September 20, 2025, and the location will be announced soon.
Helen will be dearly missed but let us not forget the love she shared for all she met. May she rest in peace.
