David Andrew Enyeart
May 30, 1982 — May 20, 2026
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of David Andrew Enyeart, who left this world on May 20, 2026, just days shy of his 44th birthday. David was born on May 30, 1982, in Portland, Oregon, lovingly raised by adoptive parents Joan E. Knapp and DeWayne L. Enyeart. A beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, David's life was a testament to love, kindness, and humor.
David graduated from Olympia High School in 2000. He pursued his passion for cooking at South Puget Sound Community College, where he earned a Culinary Arts Associate Arts Degree. Pursuing further culinary training, he attended Kendall College for Culinary Arts in Chicago. He then took a different educational direction pursuing Game Art & Design at the Vancouver Institute of Media Arts (Vancouver, BC, Canada). He studied photography and Japanese at The Evergreen State College. Later, he completed a BS in Business Administration-Accounting from Western Governors University in 2024, showcasing his diverse talents and his life-long love for learning.
Cooking and BBQing were among David's greatest joys, allowing him to share his love for food with those around him. A voracious reader and an avid follower of global news, David possessed an encyclopedic knowledge of books, comics, and movies. He was like a walking, talking version of IMDb making him a cherished "movie nerd-in-arms" for many people. His legendary dry sense of humor often brought smiles to those around him.
David was a protector from a young age, standing up against bullying and defending others. His strong moral convictions were matched by his kindness to animals, earning him the adoration of every "fur baby" he met. He was the fun uncle to his nephew, 2 nieces and shared many joyful moments with them.
Though he has left us far too soon, David's spirit lives on through his surviving friends and family including parents, birth mother and 2 half-sisters, sister Elizabeth "Liz" Christensen (Chris), his nephew and nieces, and his extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A service celebrating David's life will be held on June 20, 2026, at 2:00 PM at The United Churches of Olympia, located at 110 11th Ave. SE, Olympia, WA. Please come dressed casually wearing one of David's favorite colors which were black and purple. For those unable to attend, the service will be livestreamed at https://www.theunitedchurches.org/.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to your favorite charity in David's name, continuing his legacy of kindness, compassion and social justice. The family expresses their deepest gratitude to everyone who has supported them during this difficult time. David's warmth and humor will be missed but will remain forever in our hearts.
Our planet has lost a gentle giant. May David Andrew Enyeart rest in peace, surrounded by the love he gave so freely.
