John Morris Guest, born on May 24, 1947, in Springfield, Ohio, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2026, in Olympia, Washington. He was the beloved son of Elvin and Echo Guest.

John lived in various places throughout his life, including Wailuku, Hawaii; Petaluma, California; and Yellow Springs, Ohio. From October 2023 until his passing in April 2026, he made his home in the Tumwater/Olympia area.

He was a proud graduate of Antioch College in Yellow Springs, Ohio, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Development in 1991. John served his country honorably as a Gunner’s Mate in the United States Navy from 1974 to 1978.

John's professional life included a range of roles such as Machinist for the US Navy Civil Service, Assembler at Bomag USA, Case Manager at Day-Mont West, and Habilitation Aid at Towards Independence Inc. He brought dedication and care to each of his endeavors.

On August 9, 1986, John married Ellen Holster in Petaluma, California. He loved his daughter, Rebecca Guest, stepson Benjamin Crandall, and cherished his one grandchild Abigail. He is remembered fondly by his ex-spouse Ellen and his family. John was preceded in death by his parents, Elvin and Echo Guest and  his brother Rob.

John had a passion for cars and enjoyed collecting coins, watches, and Legos, reflecting his diverse interests and keen eye for detail.

While a formal service has yet to be scheduled, John's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
