John E. Johnson, 83, passed away of natural causes on June 21, 2020 in Olympia, Washington, his home of 50 years. He was born September 13, 1936, to John and Ada (Nikkinen) Johnson in Ishpeming, Michigan, and grew up in Balkan, Minnesota.
John married Patricia Stornick on January 28, 1960. He retired from Boeing in 1998. John loved spending time with family and the family pets. He also enjoyed fishing, woodworking, traveling, cooking, and collecting hand-carved ducks and slide rules.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Patricia (Stornick) Johnson; sons, John Johnson and his wife, Cindy, David Johnson and his wife, Kristan; son, Dan Johnson (Kathy Smith); grandchildren, Jordan, Andrea, Taylor and Alex; sisters, Katharine Johnson (Dale) of Cloquet, Minnesota, and Ruth Johnson Martin (Bill) of Walnut Creek, California; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, and brother, Frank Johnson.
