Juan " Sully" Diego Sullivan

June 28, 1954 — May 22, 2026

Juan “Sully” Diego Sullivan, 71, passed away in Olympia, WA on Friday, May 22, 2026.

Juan was born in Douglas, Arizona, to the late John E. and Barbara I. (Randall) Sullivan on June 28, 1954. His family moved back to their home state of Massachusetts in 1959 where Juan grew up and graduated Salem High School Class of 1972.

Juan, known to nearly everyone as Sully, ran a lobster boat during high school and continued working on the water until starting employment in 1973 for Ventron, a chemical processing company in Danvers MA. After some name changes and company acquisitions, Morton International moved Sully and his family to Washington state in 1992 where he worked at the Elma plant until retiring in 2009 under Dow Chemical. A few years later, he returned to provide training and then to assist in the engineering department until 2020. Overall, Juan’s service to the company reached nearly 50 years.

Juan is survived by his wife of 51 years, Anne M. (Lovett); his daughter Kerri Woehler and her husband, Gregory (Olympia WA); his granddaughters Sydney and Mallory Woehler; his daughter Meaghan Sullivan (Littleton CO); his grandson Attley Suda and his granddaughter Delia Suda; his son-in-law Rory Suda; his sister Joyce Ingoldsby (Danvers MA); his brother Timothy Sullivan (Winter Haven FL); his sister Kathleen Mullins (Lynn MA); and his twin brothers Blaise Sullivan and Christopher Sullivan (Bradford MA). He also leaves long-time friends/family Dale and Dale Perrine (New Bern NC); cousins, nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother-in-law Richard Ingoldsby; nephews Douglas Mullins and Scott Ingoldsby; and long-time friends/family James and Donna Davies.

Juan enjoyed his time on the Atlantic Ocean, out lobstering or fishing with friends. He was also a pigeon fancier and raced his pigeons from their home in Newburyport MA. In Washington, he enjoyed his dogs, tractor, raising chickens, baking pies, RVing, clamming and getting together with friends. Sully was endlessly generous to everyone he knew and was welcoming to every new person he met. Most of all, he was a story teller and was never at a loss for words. Pride in his daughters and grandchildren filled his heart and soul.
