Roy Jerome Adams

October 18, 1927 — June 1, 2026

Roy J. Adams

Roy Jerome Adams was born on October 18, 1927, to Alfred Oliver Adams and Helen Boyer Adams in St. Louis, Missouri. Soon thereafter, the family moved to Spokane, Washington where Roy's dad was an Orthopedic Surgeon.

Roy grew up in Spokane where he attended Lewis & Clark High School. He went to college at the University of Washington, where he graduated with a degree in Economics, and then worked for a local bank in Spokane.

He met his future wife, Louise Fairchild, in Spokane through his father. Louise worked as an RN with Dr. Adams. Roy and Louise were married on May 3, 1957, at the First United Methodist Church in Spokane. They had two daughters, Elizabeth and Susan.

The family moved to the Western Washington in 1965 where Roy worked for several regional banks as an Accountant.

In 1970, they settled in Olympia when Roy started to work for the State of Washington in the Auditor's Office. He obtained his Certified Public Accountant License and worked as an Auditor until he retired. For a break from work, Roy purchased a sailboat which provided family entertainment and consternation, which seems to go hand-in-hand with boating.

During retirement Roy continued his interest in investments, collecting coins and stamps, as well as learning how to restore old oil paintings, which he also enjoyed collecting.

Roy and Louise spent time doing extensive traveling with friends and family to wonderful destinations, including Africa and Antarctica.

Roy will be missed by his family but is now at peace and at rest with his wife, Louise, who passed away in October 2022. They were married for 55 years. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Elizabeth.

He leaves behind a small but loving family including his youngest daughter, Susan, and her husband, Robert Meenk and their two children, Colin and Lauren, as well as his son-in-law Edward Pernikoff and his daughter, Sara.
