Ismael "Rod" Rodriguez

LEXINGTON - A memorial service for Ismael "Rod" Rodriguez Jr. who died Monday, May 11, 2015 will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Thompson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. The family will greet guests at a reception following the service at the funeral home. Rod was born November 21, 1949 in Bayamon, Puerto Rico to the late Ismael and Matilde Rodriguez. He grew up in the old Dentsville area of Columbia and was a graduate of Dentsville High School. Rod was a member of Union United Methodist Church in Irmo. He always loved his cars and getting together with others with that same interest. Rod is survived by two brothers, Harry Rodriguez of Mount Pleasant and Hector Rodriguez of Columbia; nieces, Natalie Rodriguez and Paulina Rodriguez both of North Charleston; nephews, Hector Rodriguez Jr. of Nashville, TN and Zachary Rodriguez of Olympia, WA; Also surviving is his longtime friend, Lyn Johnson. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Jeannette Rodriguez. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
