Marjorie (Margie) Valerie Blume, 77, of Columbia, SC passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Thursday, February 9, 2023.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 1:00pm at Thompson Funeral Home, Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC. A graveside service will follow at 2:00pm in Greenlawn Cemetery, Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC.
Born in Columbia, SC, she was the daughter of the late John Leland Blume and Osee Turnipseed Blume. Margie was retired from K-Mart with over 40 years of dedicated service.
She will be remembered most for her devoted love and care she selflessly showed her family. One of her biggest enjoyments was spending time with family and friends to host large holiday gatherings and cook-outs.
Margie is survived by her sister, Helen Blume Stone of Greenville, SC; sister, Judy Blume Tuttle (Wayne) of Wilmington, NC; and brother, Eugene M Blume of Columbia, SC. “Aunt Margie” is also survived by her nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
She was predeceased by her father and mother; brother and sister-in-law, L.J. “Jay” Blume (Katherine); sister and brother-in-law, Joyce Blume LeClair (Bo); brother, Jerry B Blume; and brother in-law, Terrell Stone.
The family requests memorials may be made to St Jude Children's Hospital, the American Cancer Society, or a charity of your choice.
