Kimble Gene Martin was born on November 28, 1939 in Soperton, GA, and went to be with the Lord on December 16, 2021. Preceded in death by his father, Woodrow and mother, Myrtice Martin. Survived by his wife, Catherine (Kitty) and son, Robin (Nicole) of Noblesville, IN, along with several grandchildren, brother, Hugh (Doris) Moore, OK, sister, Joyce Bates (Richard) Bradenton, FL. Gene was a lifetime resident of Manatee County. He graduated from Manatee High School in 1957. He was well known for always giving a helping hand when needed. His working career spanned many years (10) with J.C. Penny and (30) years with DeSears Appliances. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene of Bradenton, serving as Head Usher. He was also a member of the Kiwanis Club of Cortez with over (30 years) of service to the club and his community. Griffith-Cline Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Service is to be held on Tuesday, January 4th, 2022, at the First Church of the Nazarene, 1616 59th Street West, Bradenton, FL. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 AM with the service to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tidewell Hospice, 5955 Rand Blvd. Sarasota, FL 34238 or to the Davidson Haiti Project, sponsored by First Church of the Nazarene, 1616 59th Street West, Bradenton, FL 34209.
