Alcira Mercado

Alcira Mercado was born on November 30th 1938 in Bogota Colombia to Polidoro Benavides and Cecilia Gil Benavides. She moved to Waterbury Connecticut in 1965 and later moved to North Carolina in 2006. She went to be with the Lord on May 9th 2019. She is survived by one brother; Jairo A Benavides (Deceased brother, Ezequiel Benavides Gil and two deceased sisters: Edelmira B Leguizamon and Carlina Gil) Four children: Consuelo DiGiovanni, Carlos J Ramirez, Robert Arturo Mercado and Nelson Jairo Mercado. She was preceded in death by one son, Henry Rodrigo Ramirez (2003) Ten grandchildren: Vincent DiGiovanni, Henry Carlo DiGiovanni, Rodrigo Ramirez, Michael A DiGiovanni, Nicholas J Ramirez, Genesis Mercado, Henry A Mercado, Matthias Mercado, Abbey Mercado and Orvette Ross One son-in-law, Michael DiGiovanni, four daughters-in-law: Ely Ramirez, Eloise Woodside-Ramirez, Carol Mercado and Adriana P Mercado and 2 great-grandchildren: Aviana DiGiovanni and Valentina DiGiovanni Five nephews: Orlando Leguizamon, Mauricio Leguizamon, Freddie Leguizamon, Richard S Benavides and Jairo J Benavides and a host of family and friends, including, Viviana Leguizamon, Alison Leguizamon, Brittany Leguizamon and Chelsea Leguizamon.
