Barbara Geiger Haigler

Barbara Geiger Haigler, age 65, of Charlotte, NC passed away on August 16, 2019. Barbara was born in Baton Rouge, LA on December 22, 1953 to the late Miriam C. Bordages Geiger and Philip Geiger Jr. Barbara moved to Charlotte as a child where she remained for the rest of her life. Barbara was a devoted mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Randy Haigler; parents, Miriam and Philip Geiger; granddaughter, Madelyn Haigler; and brothers Phillip Geiger, Daniel Geiger, and Edwin Geiger. Barbara leaves behind sons Brian (Sarah) Haigler and Jeffrey (Kristen) Haigler; beloved grandsons Cole Haigler and Karter Haigler; sisters Ann (Robert) Richardson, Clemmie (David) Marrow, and Helen (Allen) Diggs; brother Gregory (Harriet) Geiger; and sister-in-laws Melva Geiger and Penny Geiger. A memorial service for Barbara will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at 12 noon at Hankins and Whittington Funeral Service, 1111 East Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28203.. The service will be preceded by visitation from 10:30am-12 noon. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be sent to the National Kidney Foundation, 933 Louise Avenue, Suite 101B, Charlotte, NC 28204; or the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Charlotte, 3900 Park Road, #C, Charlotte, NC 28209.
