Domicia Louise Sitton
Jun 7, 1947 — May 8, 2019
Domicia Louise Sitton
Dollie Sitton, 71, passed away peacefully May 8, 2019 at Presbyterian Hospital of Charlotte.
Dollie was born in Charlotte on June 7, 1947 to the late William Henry and Grace Prim Sitton. She graduated from Myers Park High School in 1965 and went on to attend Appalachian State University. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Bill Sitton Jr., and sister, Kathy Sitton Callahan.
Her passion to serve others and love for children led to her becoming a nanny, and she was “adopted” by many families in the Charlotte area. As a lifelong member of Avondale Presbyterian Church, she served as an elder and on many committees throughout the years. Her smile and friendship will be missed by many.
She is survived by her nephew, Brad (Cindy) Sitton of Sanibel, FL., three nieces; Julie (Stephen) McGrath of Mountain View, CA; Denise Merritt of Belmont, NC; and Sarah (Jared) Mullis of Charlotte, NC and brother in law, George B. Callahan of Weddington, NC.
A celebration of life is to be held on Sunday, May 19th, 2019 at 2pm at Avondale Presbyterian Church in Charlotte with a reception to follow in the family life center. Dr. John Earl will officiate the ceremony. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Avondale Presbyterian Church.
