Dyette Walls Pendleton

Dee Pendleton of Boone, North Carolina, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 12, 2019 at the age of 67. She was surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 29, 1951, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, to Joe and Edna Walls. Dee married Jim Pendleton on April 2, 1972 and they have three amazing children. After college, Dee had a very successful career at Standard Register and went on to work for Appalachian State University. Upon retirement, she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, gardening, attending Appalachian State football games and visiting friends at the beach. Dee is survived by her husband of 47 years, Jim,, her daughter Lauren (Greg), son Jimmy (Kim), son Ryan (Katie) and grandchildren Madison, Tyler and Oliver. Dee is preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Edna Walls. A funeral service in honor of Dee’s life will be held Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 1pm at St. Andrews United Methodist Church with visitation preceding on May 17, 2019 from 6-8pm at Hankins and Whittington Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest in Elmwood Cemetery following the service.
