Miss Elizabeth Daisy Hepler King known by all her friends and family as Lee was born August 21, 1943 in Davidson County, North Carolina. She was born to Vestal Lee Hepler and Kathryn Francis Waller Hepler both of Lexington, NC. Elizabeth was also known by the name squirrel in her younger days by her close relatives.
Lee was very accomplished at her schooling she received a full scholarship to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she met and married Mister Benny Eugene King. Ms. Lee enjoyed her teaching with Charlotte Mecklenburg schools until retirement which after she enjoyed working as secretary for her beloved Grace United Methodist Church until retirement in February, 2017. Ms King also enjoyed her many years of service as a foster mom and trainer for the Southeastern Guide Dog Association.
Ms. Lee is survived by daughter and son in law Linda and Gary Fazenbaker of Charlotte North Carolina and their children Colton Lee Smith of Charlotte North Carolina and Crystal Kaitlyn Elaine Smith at Jacksonville, North Carolina. Miss Elizabeth King is also I survived by her daughter and son in-law Bonny and Bonny Cooper and their children, Natalie, Austin, Evan, and Corey of Charlotte North Carolina.
Funeral Service is 2:00 PM Thursday, November 15, 2018 at Hankins & Whittington Chapel, 1111 East Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28203 with the Receiving of friends from 1:00 -2:00 PM.
