Evelyn Bernice Armstrong Mitchum

Evelyn Bernice Armstrong Mitchum 91, of Charlotte, NC passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2019. Evelyn was born in Charlotte, NC on September 23, 1928. She was the daughter of the late Joseph W. and Vernie Stanford Armstrong. She was a long-time member of Tabernacle ARP. Then was a member of Craig Avenue ARP. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Tommy, sisters Betty Hannah, Ruth Armstrong, Martha Berry and brothers Joe Armstrong, Sidney Armstrong and Charles Armstrong. Evelyn Mitchum is survived by her children Mary Stansberry and husband Jim, David Mitchum and wife Shannon, and Melissa Willis and husband Todd. Grandchildren Kimberly Beach (Darren), Kurt Stansberry (Rebecca), Bailey Willis, Hannah Mitchum, Emma Mitchum and Natalie Mitchum. Great-Grandchildren Tanner, Karleigh, Daniel, River and Carson. A Graveside Service will be at Evergreen Cemetery at 11:30 Wednesday, November 6, 2019. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions to be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 4600 Park Rd #250, Charlotte, NC 28209.
