Lewis Caperton Beirne, age 48, passed away unexpectedly September 27, 2018 in Charlotte, NC. Son of Andrew Plunket Beirne, Jr. and Marshall Browning Beirne, Caperton was born June 1, 1970 in Baltimore, MD. He was raised in Wethersfield, CT and moved to Charlotte in 2004. Caperton graduated from Washington College in 1993, with a BA in History and a minor in Psychology. He was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity. Caperton was also a competitive athlete and played on the soccer team well as the lacrosse team at Washington College. Caperton was employed by Virtusa as Director of Banking and Financial Services. His strong work ethic was apparent by his career success. Caperton, an avid fisherman and who especially enjoyed fishing with his daughters, was most content on the ocean. He was a great athlete who loved the game of soccer and he played tennis competitively post college. He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, Charlotte. Surviving are his daughters Kathryn Elizabeth (12) and Sarah Francis (10), his mother Marshall Browning Beirne, of Norman, OK, his brother A. Plunket and his wife Diane Beirne, of Richmond, VA, his sister Nancy B. and her husband Kenneth M. Lucas, of Norman, OK. He is also survived by several aunts and uncles and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father. A memorial service will be held at Christ Episcopal Church, 1412 Providence Rd. Charlotte, on Thursday, October 4th at 2PM.
