Lillian Green Clements of Charlotte, NC died Monday, November 5, 2018 in her home of natural causes. She was 92. Lillian was a native of Lancaster County, South Carolina. She graduated from Lancaster High School and Winthrop College. She is survived by her three children; John Walter Clements (Nancy) of Roswell, Ga. William Ervin Clements (Linda) of Matthews, NC and Lynndy Leigh Clements of Charlotte. In addition, she is also survived by Six Grandchildren; Maggie Clements Prescott, Brad Clements, Christy Clements D'Errico, Katie Clements, Chuck Clements, Christopher Lesley; two Great Grandchildren; Kellen Clements, Easton D'Errico; her sister-in-law Lucy Clements Freeman; and her beloved dog "Lucy." Mrs. Clements was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Clements Jr; her brother, William Ervin Green, and her two sisters Mary A. Green and Dorothy Green Yarborough.
After graduating from Winthrop College in 1946, Mrs. Clements married John Henry Clements Jr. of Liberty Hill, SC and moved to Charlotte in 1948. The couple settled in the Plaza-Midwood neighborhood and lived there for over 70 years. Mrs. Clements started her career working as an Executive Secretary at the NC State Motor club. She left that position in 1964 to raise her children. She later re-entered the workforce as a Teacher's Assistant at Newell Elementary School where she was affectionately known as Mrs. "C" by students and faculty alike.
A service to celebrate Mrs. Clements life will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Hankins & Whittington Chapel, 1111 East Blvd., Charlotte, NC with visitation one hour prior.
Mrs. Clements will be laid to rest beside her husband at Sharon Memorial Park. Hankins and Whittington will be handling the arrangements for the family.
