Madonna Helen Wingert

Donna Wingert, 86, died peacefully surrounded by her loving daughters on Sunday August 4th, 2019. There will be a rosary followed by visitation on Wednesday evening August 7, 2019 from 6-8pm at Hankins & Whittington Funeral Service, 1111 East Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28203. Fr. Paul Gary will celebrate a mass of resurrection at 10:00 am, Thursday, August 8, 2019 at Cathedral of St. Patrick, 1621 Dilworth Rd. East, Charlotte, NC. Internment will immediately follow at Forest Lawn West Cemetery, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, NC 28208, beside John, her beloved husband of 52 years. Donna was preceded in death by Dr. John Wingert; her mother and father, Bunt & Helen Stotesbery of Dubuque, Iowa. Donna is survived by her 6 daughters, Cheryl Stanley of Loris, SC, Connie Wingert-Baker of Huntersville, NC, Julie Wirth (Gary) of Charlotte, NC, Gail Taylor (Don) of Denver, NC, Dr. Linda Edgerton (James) of Dallas, TX, and Karen Wingert (Stuart) of Indian Trail, NC; 14 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren. Donna is also survived by her sister, Diane Sullivan of Decatur, IL. Donna was a devout Catholic and life long member of St. Patrick’s Cathedral. She was a treasured wife, mother, grandmother, and GG. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Holy Angels Nursery, P.O 710 Belmont, NC 28012.
