Marcia Ann Yandle Coleman of Ocean Isle Beach, NC, passed away on September 5, 2018, after a lengthy illness. Marcy was a dearly loved and cherished wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend to those blessed to know her. Born July 17, 1952, in Charlotte, NC, she was raised in the Steele Creek Community and graduated from Olympic High School. She attended Appalachian State University. After working as an administrative assistant for several years in Charlotte, she and husband/partner Gary formed Marco Enterprises, a concession business servicing festivals and arts and craft fairs around the Southeast.
Marcy, a very caring person, was active at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Ocean Isle Beach, sang in the church choir, helped with the youth group, and taught Vacation Bible School. She also a devoted volunteer tutor and member of the OIB Turtle Patrol.
Marcy was the caretaker and hostess of her parents’ beach house on Ocean Isle Beach, always stepping in to fix problems that arose. More than that, Marcy was always there to care for her parents or her siblings and families whenever they came to the beach house. Beachtime and Marcytime were synonymous.
Marcy is survived by her husband, Gary F. Coleman; her parents, Marcus E. and Lois Moore Yandle; mother-in-law, Mary Francis McDowell Coleman; sisters Sherrie Catledge (Greg), Vicki Taylor (Barry), and Lisa Britton (Roy); brother Marcus E., Jr. “Chip” (Kim); nieces Dayna Hamm (Rich), Ashley Odvody (Lance), Katie Hicks (William), Hannah Hake (Isaac), Mary Vandevort, Emma Yandle, Ellie Yandle, and Jolie Amick; nephews Casey Rogers (Courtney), Josh Rogers (Stephanie), Matthew Vandevort, Eason
