Margaret Ellen Alston

Mrs. Margaret Alston, 95, of Charlotte, NC went to be with the Lord on June 11, 2019. Margaret was born in Peachland, NC to the late William and Mary Belle Burch. Margaret served in the U.S. Coast Guard and worked in the insurance industry as a secretary. She loved knitting and doing crafts. In addition to her parents, Margaret is preceded in death by her husband, Henry Frank Alston. She is survived by sons, Mark Alston and his wife Judy, Steve Alston and his wife Teressa; nephew, Robert Cornatzer and his wife Margie; six grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at 1:00 pm on Friday, June 14, 2019 at Hankins and Whittington Funeral Home, 1111 East Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28203. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 pm. Donations in her memory may be made to Pritchard Memorial Baptist Church, 1117 South Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28203
