Ruby Hemby Duncan Taylor

Ruby Duncan Taylor, age 96, of Charlotte, NC went home to glory on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 in her home with her family around her. Ruby was born in Raleigh, NC to the late John B. Duncan and Ruby Nemby Duncan but grew up in Greenville, NC. She moved to Charlotte, NC in 1941 at the age of 19. Ruby loved to sing. She was in the Glee Club while in high school and was a member of her church choir. Ruby also sang on a small local radio station near her home when she was in high school. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Robert “Bob” R. Taylor, Sr. She is survived by her children, Ruby “Elaine” Ruta (Lou), Robert R. “Randy” Taylor (Kerrie Jane), and Janice Leigh Taylor; her grandchildren, Jack Ballard, Brittney Ruta, Ruby Hilton (Jerrell), Carrianne McLeod and 3 great grandsons and 3 great granddaughters. Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, September 1, 2018 at 1:30 PM in the Chapel at Covenant Presbyterian Church. A small graveside service will be held at 11:30 AM prior to the Celebration of Life service.
