Ruth Inez Hackney Drum

Ruth Inez Drum age 94 of Charlotte, died on September 27, 2018 at Sharon Towers where she loved to live. She never left her home without a hat. Ruth was born on January 27, 1924 in Grace Hospital in Morganton, NC. Ruth was one of 6 children. Her father was a Methodist minister in the Western Carolina Conference for many years. Ruth was married to Floyd Yates Drum Sr. for 50 years before he died at the age of 94. Ruth is survived by her three children, Charles, Bonnie, and Yates Jr. Ruth had 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Ruth has been a member of St. Andrews Methodist Church for 50 years, where she spent 6 years as the Chairman of “Ruth” Circle. She was also a member of the Amateur Art Club. A Funeral Service will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at St. Andrews Methodist Church, 1901 Archdale Drive, Charlotte, NC 28210. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at St. Andrews Methodist Church. Memorials may be sent to Sharon Towers Residents Assistance Fund or St. Andrews Methodist Church.
