Sara Cruse Thompson

Sara Caroline Cruse Thompson, age 85, from Charlotte passed away on Friday, August 10, 2018. She was the daughter of the late Wilson Lee Cruse and Grace Jones Cruse born on October 5, 1932. A loving mother and homemaker, Sara was a remarkable cook and enjoyed preparing meals and entertaining for her family and friends, especially over the holidays. She was always helping family and friends during any time of need. Sara was predeceased by her husband Robert “Bob” J. Thompson and her sister, Jean Cruse Propes. Sara is survived by two sons, Bobby Thompson and his wife, Cathy, of Bonita Springs, FL and Bill Thompson of Charlotte; three grandchildren, Ben Thompson, Anna Thompson, and RJ Thompson; and one great granddaughter, Ellie, along with several nieces and nephews from Charlotte and Florida. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Hankins & Whittington, 1111 East Boulevard, Charlotte NC 28203.
