Shirley High Smith

Shirley Smith, 80, of Charlotte, lost her second battle of cancer on September 17, 2019. She was born on June 23, 1939 in Polkton, North Carolina where she was raised. She grew up farming and attended Anson High School. She carried her love of growing into her beautiful rose garden. She loved her dogs dearly. She retired from Converse after working there for 30 years. She loved to watch her granddaughter, Shelby, play softball and her grandson, Joshua, play the drums. Shirley was brought up Baptist but now a member of Good Samaritan United Methodist Church in Lake Wylie, SC. She was a survivor of Breast Cancer for 14 years and fought hard for another 6 years before her passing. She is survived by: Paula Shane Sosebee and her husband, Tim and Shannon Jean Suddreth and her husband Chris; grandchildren Joshua Craig Suddreth and Shelby Lynn Sosebee; brother Charles High and his wife Frances along with nieces and nephew Steve Sikes and Suzanne and Jackie Eddins and Ralph High. The family would like to thank the Levine Cancer Institute for all their kindness.
