Stephanie Frady Tipton
Jul 30, 1950 — Oct 3, 2018
Stephanie Frady Tipton, loving wife, mother and grandmother, ocean lover, friend to dogs, devoted to Auburn and Carolina Panthers fan, avid concert goer, of Charlotte, NC, died from a short battle with cancer on October 3, 2018.
Born on July 30, 1950 in Anniston, Alabama, she moved to Birmingham and graduated from Ramsey High School where she had many friends and was a high school gymnast. She then enjoyed her work and friends while helping manage several well-known Birmingham restaurants and bars. She later moved to Charlotte, NC with her husband, Howard, and was successful as a bankruptcy legal assistant.
Some of her happiest times were spent in St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands with her husband where she enjoyed work as a receptionist at Coral World and as a First Mate and Dockmaster. She adored fishing and boating with her husband, making memories at Secret Harbor, and entertaining many family and friends. She was a vehement supporter of organizations which help save and preserve the planet.
Stephanie spent these last twenty plus years in Charlotte with her husband relishing time spent on the lake and the ocean, attending many concerts, cooking and eating outside, reading the paper daily (especially the sports section), cheering on the Carolina Panthers at all home games, traveling to visit family, and taking care of her house and dogs.
Her family will miss her one of a kind personality, enthusiastic yelling at football games, kindness toward animals, and great love for her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by Ernest C. Frady (father); Helon Peck Norred (mother); R.A. “Bob” Norred (step-father); Shelby Frady (sister) and Alejandro “Alex: Alvarez (grandson). She is survived by her loving husband, Howard W. Tipton; daughter Sunni C. Wilson Speigle (James R. “Rusty” Speigle); grandsons Connor Speigle and Cameron Speigle; step-daughter Angela Alvarez (Alejandro Alvarez) and grandson Giovanni Alvarez.
Donations in her name may be sent to The Humane Society of Charlotte, 2700 Toomey Ave., Charlotte, NC 28209.
