Todd Wade Becher
Aug 23, 1960 — May 7, 2019
Todd Becher passed away on May 7, 2019 after a very long and courageous battle with kidney cancer. He and his wife Michele met in 1983 at the University of North Dakota. and were married for almost 34 years. That’s a long time to spend with a very smart, hardworking, and good hearted person like Todd.
Todd was diagnosed in February, 2010 with kidney cancer...a relentless disease. In spite of everything, Todd carried on with his life...he was a CPA working as the Accounting Manager for CHF Industries until 2014. Boy Scouts, curling, bee keeping, music festivals...he never seemed to let his diagnosis stop him.
Most of all he spent time with his family; wife Michele and sons David and Eric. Todd and his family took quite a few great travel adventures together over the years that allowed them to spend quality time together and have fun. Todd loved his family a lot...and fought hard to be there for them and provide for them as long as he could.
He will be greatly missed.
The family will receive friends June 1, 2019 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at Hankins & Whittington Funeral Service, 1111 East Blvd., Charlotte, NC with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 2:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to KCCure, a foundation dedicated to increasing kidney cancer research. Dena Battle, wife of kidney cancer warrior Chris Battle, started this foundation. Todd and Michele met Dena and Chris years ago when Todd started this long journey with cancer. The blog the Battles co-wrote, “Kidney Cancer Chronicles” was a valuable source of information and strength.
